Added value in particular due to good organized excursions

Vilamendhoo offers a variety of different excursions which are in my eyes a highlight of this island. Staff is open to fulfill your wishes regarding everything.

The richness of housereef was a adisappointment for me since I have seen some better housereefs in relation to preservation of corals. Nevertheless you can see turtles, sting rays, muranes and many colorful fishes.

We LOVED everything in this resort and this island. Food was delicious, even though we are vegetarian we found a lot of options for us. Thematic dinners were fun and nice options everyday. And the reef... speachless, everything was amazing and we cannot wait to go back there in few years.

I liked snorkelling around the resort so must. I would love to come back again.

We were backed after 10 years. The resort upgraded us to a Water Villa for one night. It was a very good experience. The Water Villa was very spacious and clean. and no mosquito and giant ants bordering us. We still loved the beach villa with Jacuzzi. Even though El Nino bleach a lot of corals, they are gradually coming back now. We still could see a lot of sea creatures while snorkelling such as schools of fishes, reef sharks, eagle ray, turtles, eels etc. The tropical monsoon was not affecting this island much. You had a good chance to see the whale shark at this moment. The staffs were very nice even though you didn't tips them. It made you feel very comfortable. We stayed at Adult Zone. It was quiet and comfortable.

We were on a all inclusive plan( Full Board). We were having 3 meals in the same restaurant. The food were just okay. The meat were overcooked always so they were very tough and the seafood were NOT fresh.

Totally recommend it. Might be 4* resort but service level is strong 5*. Nature, fauna & home reef around the resort

Good food in the restaurants & bars; clean; fantastic home reef; whale sharks & manta rays excursions in close proximity

You need to pay 10usd/day/person for snorkelling gear rental (I thought that these things are included in AI package), however it might be a common practice for all resorts.

very good resort with great staff

excellent staff ,very good snorkelling , nice beach , large variety of buffet foods , good accommodations . Superb whale-shark tour .

waited at Male airport for 4 hours for the sea plane transfer to the resort . Missed lunch and ruined much of the first day . Price for soft drinks, beer and wine has increased considerably over previous years .

Paradise comes here to stay

The location is second to none. I chose this island as the house reef is excellent and allowed my partner to experience all that the Maldives has to offer. The room was perfect with amazing views over the lagoon. Staff could not do enough and everything was well organised and attentive to the clients needs. Excursion were well run and we were fortunate enough to swim with Whale Sharks, Manta Rays and plenty of Sharks. I hope you have the luck we did as its not guaranteed but they certainly put a lot of effort into finding them.

A small comment would be the Hot Rock meal on the beach. Just maybe a little more thought on how to make it easier for the guest to eat as the hot stones take up a large part of your table.

Great time in Vilamendhoo

We stayed at Vilamendhoo one week and we had a great time! People were really nice and helpful everywhere. We enjoyed the all inclusive package (definitely worth the price!) and all the included activities (kayak, windsurf, tennis and the sunset cruise where we spotted dolphins). We also did the the whale shark excursion and we managed to see a whale shark, amazing! Definitely recommended!

One night we found 4 cockroaches in the room, even in my luggage. How they managed to get into our water villa is still a mystery. I can accept wildlife, given that we are on a tropical island, but cockroaches are really not ok. If the hotel is aware of this, it should inform and advise the guests on this potential issue (for example saying not to leave open luggage on the floor etc..). Despite this inconvenience, the staff was very helpful and reacted quickly. We also had a rough experience in our way back to Male airport, even if it's not really Vilamendhoo's fault. We boarded the first seaplane of the day (at 6am), confident that we could be at the airport way in advance for our flight at 9.40am. However, the seaplane made few stops on the way and it took almost 1 hour and half to reach Male (compared to the usual ~25min)! After that, the airport was a complete chaos with queues everywhere and we almost missed our international flight.

Incredible stay

Everything. Incredible stay, wonderful staff & the snorkelling was amazing. We swam with a Whale Shark, Manta Ray, Eagle Rays and even Dolphins on our tours. Unbelievable! And the room, island and facilities were awesome. We'll definitely be back in the future! Thank you so much!

Great experience overall. Especially for people who love snorkeling/diving.

1. The transfer is well organized. As a person with a motion sickness I liked that there is a seaplane to the island and not a boat. 2. The staff is friendly and helpfull. 3. My garden villa was in a good condition, with a working air conditioner, a hair dryer, many hangers and so on. 4. Breakfasts, lunches and dinners were excelent (buffet style). 5. A beautiful and big home reef; you can rent a mask, a snorkel and fins or bring your own. 6. There are snorkeling excursions. If you have a motion sickness - they will give you a pill. I went on a manta excersion and liked it a lot. 7. There is a diving center if you'd like to get padi certified, although it would be much cheaper to do in your home country.

1. For the first few days my villa wasn't cleaned although I rarely left the "do not disturb" coconut in front of the door. After I called the reception and told about that - they started to clean the villa. 2. I'd prefer there weren't bushes in the sandy area in the bathroom - I hoped to do some exercises, but there wasn't enough space.

Amazing staying & good value for money

We had an amazing staying. The room, the beach, the reef, the staff, the trips were all great. Our experience with the diving centre was amazing, so was the guest service which was really fantastic throughout the holiday.

The candle light dinner looked it had been improvised a bit. Little variety of food at the buffet restaurant. The beach outside our beach villa was always in the shade so we had to drag the sunbeds a bit far to be in the sun. The staff at the restaurant was not very professional we felt.

Enchanting and wonderful

Since I’m not a very confident swimmer, I greatly appreciated the house reef which was just a few meters from the seashore. I was provided with a free life vest which made snorkeling much easier. It was also fascinating to see so many baby sharks just swimming by your feet at the seashore… the sand is powdery white and very fine (but not the sand in the sea, which is already pebbly)… food is great … the room is spacious and clean; the bed and pillows are very comfortable… I love the open air bathroom

Paradise island with excellent food and snorkeling

This was the second time we visited Vilamendhoo. This island is the paradise but it’s affordable when it comes to the Maldives high prices. The rooms are fantastic and the service is flawless. The house reef is definitely worth it and you can see a lot. Ocean discovery full day trip is recommended.
